THE CHALLENGE
The management system that PSP supplies is a suite of bespoke software applications. These were originally designed and serviced by a Spanish based software developer who recently decided to retire the business.
PSP had 12 months to find a new developer who could adopt the existing code base, offer ongoing support for products and work collaboratively to continually improve and innovate services.
Software providers are often reluctant to work with another developer’s programming, preferring to scrap existing source code and rewrite from scratch. However this was not an option for PSP, who needed to ensure seamless continuity of services for their existing customers.

Adopting existing source code
The initial handover was a crucial period to learn from the original software developer. Syrinx Systems mobilised quickly, ensuring all information was transferred during recorded meetings before the time expired.
We familiarised with the existing code, patching problems, simplifying the build and updating systems as required to keep the software functioning efficiently.
